NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

This course is 8 hours long and includes classroom and a generous amount of range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students will obtain a full understanding of the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development from this course. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and course completion certificate.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:

PROPER ID: BRING STATE ISSUED ID (REQUIRED TO RECIEVE CERTIFICATE)

FIREARM: (ALL FIREARMS WILL BE REMAIN UNLOADED AND CHECKED FOR SAFETY PRIOR TO BEING ALLOWED IN CLASS ROOM AND OR ON THE FIRING LINE)

HOLSTER: (IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A HOLSTER LEAVE IT IN YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL SAFETY OFFICER CLEARS AND FLAGS IT FOR SAFETY)

AMMUNITION: (FACTORY LOADED) (NO RELOADED ALLOWED)

EYE PROTECTION: (PRESCRIPTION EYE, SAFETY OR BALISTIC GLASSES) ONLY

EAR PROTECTION: (MUFFS PREFERRED) (EAR PLUGS ACCEPTABLE)

APPROPRIATE CLOTHING: DRESS FOR THE WEATHER AND ABSOLUTELY NO OPEN TOED SHOES‍. ‍
